Ingredients: ½lb Grounded beef, onion, zucchini,
green pepper, tender fresh tomatoes, tomato sauce, butter, red wine or
vodka, salsa, spices (salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, oregano, basil,
parsley).
Preparation:
- Chop one or two onions, one or two zucchini,
one tomato and one or two green pepper into small squares. - Put a ¼ cup
of butter into a frying pot. - Add ¼ teaspoon of salt, pepper, cayenne
pepper, basil and a ½ teaspoon of oregano and the same of parsley.
- Fry and stir the mixture while adding the
ground beef for 7 to 10 minutes. - Add a ½ teaspoon of salsa and 1
teaspoon of red wine or vodka into the mixture and stir.
- Add a large can of tomato sauce into the
mixture and stir.
- Lower the heat and let the mixture cook for
11/2 hours while stirring every 10 minutes to blend the mixture.
Macaroni with meat sauce:
Ingredients: Elbow macaroni, meat sauce and
spices (salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, oregano, basil and parsley).
Preparation:
- Add 3 cups of meat sauce into a pot and heat
to boiling point.
- Add ¼ teaspoon of salt, pepper, cayenne
salt, oregano and parsley into the pot while stirring.
- Add 1cup macaroni into the pot. - Stir for a
minute to make sure that macaroni doesn’t stick on the bottom of the
pot.
- Lower the heat and let it cook for 15
minutes while stirring every few minutes.
Potatoes and chicken
Ingredients: Potatoes, chicken breasts or
legs, butter and spices (salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, oregano, basil and
parsley).
Preparation:
- Wash the chicken and put them in an oven
pot.
- Add 2 cups of water mixed with the spices
(1/4 teaspoon of salt, pepper, cayenne pepper and oregano).
- Bake at 350 – 400 degrees for 1 hours
while turning the chicken every 15 minutes.
- Turn the temperature of the oven into broil
and bake for 5 minutes to give the chicken the golden color.
- Take the chicken out and add the potatoes
into the oven pot and bake for 45 minutes at 350 – 400 degrees while
turning the potatoes over every 10 minutes.
Pastissou
Ingredients: Elbow macaroni, meat sauce,
flour, butter, milk, spices (salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, oregano, basil
and parsley).
Preparation:
- Boil the elbow macaroni until it is almost
done (10 – 13 minutes).
- Put a ½ cup of butter in a pot, add to it 1
cup of milk and then heat and stir to mix the butter and milk.
- Add flour while you stir until the mixture
become creamy.
- Add the macaroni to 2 – 3 cups of meat
sauce and 2 spoons of the cream you made.
- Add salt, pepper and cayenne pepper to the
mix and stir until it blends well.
- Put the mixture in a baking container and
cover it with the cream.
- Bake for 20 minutes in the oven at 350 –
400 degrees.
- Turn the temperature of the oven to broil
and bake for 3 – 5 minutes to give it the golden color.
